Materials

  • Blades: I use ATS-34, 1084, and 1095 for plain steel. I also make my own damascus, including straight laminates and mosaic.
  • Bolsters: These are usually made from damascus, nickel or 416ss, and sometimes copper.
  • Handles: Choices include, but are not limited to: stag antler, sheep horn, exotic stabilized hardwoods, ancient ivory, modern ivory, oosic, mother-of-pearl, and micarta.

Nearly everything that can be done in a knife has probably been done; I just do them and throw in my own influence to make them what "I" consider to be a good design. While I do custom work, I try to stay inside my comfort zone and within my forte. I will not sacrifice quality or class just to make a sale.

Every one of my knives goes through a battery of tests to fit the model. A large knife may go through 2x4's, newspaper, rope, and anything else that knife might be subject to. The edge will hold up, not chip or wrinkle. It will perform or it will never leave my shop.

Folders are of linerlock design.

Types of fixed blades include the basic utility, hunters, tacticals, bowies, drop point, clip point, trailing, and just about anything else.
